Aussie Blokes Clothes Update

G’day Mates

Lots of changes here at Aussie Blokes Clothes

For now we have closed our retail shop – and as yet have not found another retail site that suits our needs.

We have our online shop as always and will have time now to add a lot of new products that will offer real Quality, Value and Fit for Aussie Blokes (and of course, always, a little for the Ladies and for the Kids)

Aussie Blokes Clothes has also relocated to the Bush – bit of a tree change in Central Queensland for the winter – much warmer and very peaceful.

This move will also give us more time to concentrate on our manufacturing plans. Our first run of Weekenders Shorts was a big hit and now we can move into a full size and colour range. Unfortunately because of our Australian Manufacturers other commitments it may be 6 weeks before our next order of Weekenders is available for sale. Apologies to those who are waiting for this.

As always we encourage you to email or call at anytime we can help. If you have a favourite brand that we do not show on our website – chances are we can get it – please just ask and we will search our mountain of suppliers to ensure you get what you need.

Anzac Day Two Up

Anzac Day – Ready for a game of Two Up with your Mates

Wikipedia Says …..

Two-up is a traditional Australian gambling game, involving a designated “spinner” throwing two coins or pennies into the air. Players bet on whether the coins will fall with both heads (obverse) up, both tails (reverse) up, or with one coin a head and one a tail (known as “odds”). It is traditionally played on Anzac Day in pubs and clubs throughout Australia, in part to mark a shared experience with Diggers through the ages.

A person is selected as the spinner (generally greeted to loud calls of “Come in spinner!” from the rest of the players). The spinner tosses the coins in the air using the kip until he wins or loses.

The basic format of the game:

  • Two heads means the spinner wins.
  • Two tails means the spinner loses.
  • Odds (“one them”) means the spinner throws again.

The spinner is required to place a bet before his first throw that must be covered (equalled) by another player. If the spinner wins he keeps the bet and cover, otherwise it goes to the player who covered the bet. The boxer takes a commission out of this bet.[4]

The other members of the group place side bets (bets against each other) on whether the spinner will win or lose and the result of the next throw.

Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins on Tradie Wear

Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins shares a few thoughts on Tradie Wear.

A bit more about Nick Cummins

In 2007, Cummins was selected for the Australian Sevens squad. He was the top try scorer for the team at the IRB Sevens World Series. Later that year, he moved to Perth after signing a two-year contract with the Western Force.

Cummins played for the Perth Spirit team that reached the semi-final stage of the Australian Rugby Championship in 2007.He made his debut for the Western Force in 2008, starting in the first round against the Sharks in Durban.

In 2009, Cummins was invited to the Wallabies training camp prior to the northern Spring Tour, although injury prevented his involvement on that tour.

In 2010, he was selected for the Australian Barbarians and played in two home matches against England. He was then selected in Australia’s 28 man squad that travelled to South Africa as part of the 2010 Tri-Nations series, although he wasn’t required to play. Later that year, Cummins went to the Commonwealth Games Sevens tournament in Delhi, where he played in Australia’s silver medal-winning team.

In 2012, Cummins was selected for the Australia squad for the inaugural Rugby Championship. He made his Test debut on 6 October 2012, and played on the wing in the Wallabies 25-19 win over Argentina in Rosario.

On 4 July 2014 it was announced that Cummins would be released early from his Western Force and Australian Rugby Union contracts on compassionate grounds.
